29 Aug: One Day for Kids in London – Canada

  Last Saturday Agust 22, 2015, Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation carried out a day for Kids in the city of London. We want to give special THANKS to the following supporters of One Day for Kids 2015.  Your contribution and generosity made that this event was great success!.   Especially the Ashley Grace Powell Memorial Fund, a fund within London Community Foundation, was instrumental in making this day a success. Your generosity benefitted over 300 children by providing them with school supplies.  Photos of the event:

23 May: Cleanup activity at the park Ahuntsic in Montreal – Canada

Last Saturday May 2nd 2015, Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation Canada carried out a cleanup activity at the park Ahuntsic in the city of Montreal. 36 volunteers assisted with the objective to help the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville clean up, following the end of winter and for the purpose of families and children to enjoy a clean park during these spring and summer months.

02 May: Educational seminar Toronto – Canada

On Saturday, May 2, 2015 we had an educational seminar about diabetes prevention. Unison, which is an educational center for diabetes, presented a seminar in regards to diabetes prevention that promotes a healthier life style. An informative session was presented in the following topics: diabetes, nutrition, healthy cooking and physical activity. Fifteen people attended the seminar and answered questionnaires on diabetes risk and assessment. The participant’s enjoyed and informative afternoon. They got good information from the health assessment staff and got to enjoy healthy foods that can be implemented on a regular basis.

12 Jan: English Pronunciation Course in London – Canada

Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation in Canada is offering two courses of English Pronunciation to immigrants in two schools in London, Ontario, completely free with the goal that they can speak the English language correctly, and therefore improve their quality of life. We have students from Angola, Argelia, Arabian Peninsula, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, China, South Korea, Lebanon, Pakistan, Syria, and Romania.

06 Sep: Clean up of adopted park in London – Canada

Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation in Canada adopted Jesse Davidson’s Park in London, Ontario, Canada two years ago with the commitment of keeping the park clean by conducting regular clean ups. The City of London invited Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation in Canada to the Adopt-A- Park Celebration Event on September 6, 2014 to recognized us for our work cleaning Jesse Davidson’s park with a certificate.

09 Aug: Celebration for Colombians in Mississauga, Toronto – Canada

“We are Colombians and will remain Colombians in any part of the world”, said by an attendee at the Colombian Independence Day celebration in Canada. On August 9th 2014, the city of Mississauga Ontario, inhabited mainly by Colombians, celebrated “Colombia in Mississauga”, an event filled by approximately 4000 patriotic individuals from various nationalities. The event counted with the participation of 25 organizations, including governmental bodies and the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation- Canada (MLMIFC). Which seeks to help the communities in need such as the immigrants and refugees.

09 Aug: One Day for Kids in Montréal – Canada

In the 2014, the raise awareness and educate children on how beautiful and rewarding it is to help others. Activity for children under 12, where they were offered food, gifts, surprises, and recreational activities. During the event a strategic space was adapted so that children could donate, achieving the objective of raising awareness of the importance of donating to help others.
