The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation held an engaging seminar for breast cancer awareness in Toronto, Ontario. Over 40 women attended.. On October 20, 2018, the participants had the opportunity to be educated by our guest speaker, Dr. Andrea Gallo. With her expertise, many were taught regarding the early signs of, preventative measures to take against and how to seek professional consultation for, breast cancer in its multiple forms..
On December 17, 2016 Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation with a group of volunteers in the city of Toronto, went to the company Laborie Medical Technologies Canada to receive donations wich were distributed to seven families in need. The families were able to receive jackets, shoes, sheets, children’s clothing and gift cards to buy groceries among other things. These grants will contribute to the improvement of the conditions and quality of life of the people.
With the help of 13 volunteers, Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation in Toronto had the Food Cupboard Project where 41 people could receive different varieties of well-balanced food consisting of vegetables, fruits and dairy. The people were very appreciative for the support provided by the foundation through the Food Cupboard Project. The foundation continued its work by donating food on the same day to the Good Shepherd Shelter. They expressed their gratitude to the foundation as it helped homeless and disadvantaged people.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno Internacional Fundation Canada carried out on the 17th of September 2016 the educational campaing “One Day For Kids” at Grandravine Community Center in the city of Toronto. 35 children atended the event and enjoyed a memorable day with recreational activities, games and gifts promoting family values.
Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation Canada celebrated its educational campaign “One Day for Kids” 2015 at Grandravine community centre in the city of Toronto.The event was attended by 48 people including 10 children who participated in recreational and leisure activities, promoting values in a warm space with laughter, games and gifts.
On Saturday, May 2, 2015 we had an educational seminar about diabetes prevention. Unison, which is an educational center for diabetes, presented a seminar in regards to diabetes prevention that promotes a healthier life style. An informative session was presented in the following topics: diabetes, nutrition, healthy cooking and physical activity. Fifteen people attended the seminar and answered questionnaires on diabetes risk and assessment. The participant’s enjoyed and informative afternoon. They got good information from the health assessment staff and got to enjoy healthy foods that can be implemented on a regular basis.
