Support Days Programme: a helping hand that inspires happiness
SUPPORT DAYS
The Support Days Programme was created as a social initiative aimed at benefiting vulnerable population groups by implementing strategies of humanitarian aid and awareness, based on the application of values according to the method developed by Dr. María Luisa Piraquive, “Discovering Ability, An Opportunity”.
Through the distribution of various donations, the programme effectively and promptly addresses the needs of specific populations, alleviating difficulties, maintaining, and protecting the dignity of beneficiaries, especially during preventive situations, emergencies, or rehabilitation following events like natural disasters.
ACTIVITIES
Support Days are conducted thanks to the collaborative work with territorial entities, entrepreneurs, foundations, individuals, and the union of efforts by hundreds of volunteers who, driven by altruism and philanthropy, respond to the call of vulnerable communities to ensure that assistance reaches affected populations in a humanitarian, effective, and timely manner.
In addition, awareness of values is raised through workshops, recreational-pedagogical activities, and cultural events that fill communities with hope during times of adversity, fostering solidarity and keeping dreams and aspirations alive.
During the Support Days, various types of assistance are provided, including food supplies, hygiene kits, winter kits, school kits, toys, snacks, specific aids (mattresses, beds, and blankets), and technical aids (wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and crutches), among others. These quality aids represent significant benefits for the community and bring encouragement and a helping hand to those most in need.
CREED, RACE, ETHNICITY, OR ANY OTHER FACTOR
The Support Days Programme aims to address the basic needs of vulnerable communities while raising awareness of the importance of sharing and mutual help. To this end, the Foundation creates recreational-pedagogical spaces targeted at various groups, including individuals with disabilities, older adults, children, vulnerable families, and disaster survivors.
In Colombia, these Support Days have been implemented in more than 500 municipalities across the 32 departments of the country, where the Foundation carries out its social work. Indigenous communities such as the Guambianos, Wayúu, Kogui, and Ticunas have benefited. Children benefit from campaigns like “A Tool, A Life Project” and “A Day for the Child,” where they receive school kits and gifts. Similarly, “A Day for the Elderly” promotes social inclusion for older adults and people with disabilities.
More people worldwide love serving and spreading happiness. The Support Days Programme also operates in countries such as Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, England, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Switzerland.
In addition to delivering aid, the Foundation raises awareness in communities about the importance of sharing and mutual assistance. Moreover, providing humanitarian aid during times of disaster is a priority for the Support Days Programme, which has been present to offer encouragement and hope to people affected by natural disasters in Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Mexico, among others.
CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING
The Support Days Programme includes a Corporate Volunteering initiative that allows employees and executives to engage in the Foundation’s social work. This initiative strengthens values such as solidarity, empathy, teamwork, and effective communication while promoting corporate social responsibility.
